What is VoIP

Voice over Internet Protocol is, put simply, Internet telephony – the transmission of voice traffic over a dedicated high-speed broadband connection instead of traditional physical wires. Call quality is at least equal to that of a standard (analogue) phone and often far better with high definition handsets.

There are many reasons to switch to a hosted VoIP based system. It reduces call costs, minimizes physical line requirements and removes the need for expensive onsite PBX hardware. It provides flexibility, future proofing (and in the light of BT's announcement that ISDN & PSTN technologies are to become obsolete), offers an opportunity to bring your business up to date. We can provide a secure cost effective Voice as a Service (VaaS), cloud based solution that is feature rich and comparable with many high end hardware systems. To make your decision easier, we provide a try before you buy service, which will allow you to experience the technology without risk or commitment.

Reduced Costs

Moving from a conventional fixed physical lines (such as ISDN), with multiple channels will always realize a considerable cost saving when ported to a VoIP telephony system as you only need pay for the capacity you need on cheaper connections. There is no PBX hardware onsite, so the purchase and maintenance costs are eliminated. The only remaining onsite hardware cost will be for handset replacement should it be necessary.

Cost savings can be extended further with calls at considerably reduced rates and free if you are calling another VoipSecured number. Some gateway providers have agreements to pass free calls between them, but this does however depend on the supplier. Internal extension calls (extension to extension), are free regardless of location.

Secure Encrypted Communications

Our systems employ the best security from PBX to SIP gateway (and unlike other providers), this extends to the selected telephone handset range. Each device uses encryption technology to provide a secure link to the PBX system from anywhere on the internet on a private network without opening up a vast range of ports on your firewall, reducing local network security administration.

Flexible & Scalable

Our systems provide a cost effective flexibility which scales to cater for businesses of any size. It is easy to add more users and sites at any location at any time. Handsets can easily be deployed to remote locations without the need for local technical support, and because all devices are on a private network handsets can be remotely administered.

Multi-Site Deployment

You only need to purchase one system to cover the whole organisation, including teleworkers (SOHO), satellite offices and subsidiaries. All that each site needs is an internet feed, though for business continuity it is recommended that sites have a redundant connection.

Business Continuity

Our physical servers are housed in one of the top Tier 3 data centres on the planet, providing the highest level of security, power and network redundancy with all the environmental protection you'd expect from a facility of this class. That said (as with all business critical systems), redundancy should be considered in the design to avoid single points of failure and allow business as usual in the event of issues. For example, main offices should consider at least two internet connections (preferably from different internet service providers). Our approach is to provide redundancy on all critical components to increase system availability and avoid downtime. A typical example of this approach can be seen in the diagram below.

Private Cloud Based PBX Servers

Our system provides a virtual, private, cloud based PBX server tailored to you individual needs. Redundancy has been considered in the design of our system with all critical components being replicated to avoid (where possible), single points of failure. We provide a nightly replicated copy of your server on separate hardware for use in the event of service failure on the primary PBX.

Fully Managed Solutions Available

We can provide a fully managed and administered system solution or should you prefer just a hosted environment for your IT department to administer themselves. Should you wish to administer the system yourself but don't have the necessary in house skills we can also provide training.

Business Class HandsetsYealink T28
